WFTT people

Hilary O'Sullivan

Hilary is founder and director of WFTT and has over 20 years experience of research, strategy and policy development. Hilary has strong project management, analytical and reporting skills and a good understanding of the wide range of issues affecting successful local economies and communities. Hilary's background is in property and development - she has a BSc in Land Management and is also a qualified chartered surveyor (ARICS). Prior to setting up WFTT Hilary worked with a number of research and consultancy organisations, both in UK and overseas, and has also worked as a senior policy officer in local government. Previous experience is summarised below:

  • 2000-2002 Freelance Economic Development/Regeneration Consultant
    Included a one year assignment working as retained consultant to Coventry Warwickshire Solihull Partnership, responsible for developing the strategy and action plan and monitoring framework for Coventry and Warwickshire Regeneration Zone. Other major clients included Warwickshire Rural Forum and Hampshire County Council.
  • 1996-2000 Principal Economic Development and Regeneration Strategy Officer, Warwickshire County Council
    Responsible for development, update and monitoring of county economic development strategy and action plan, and developing new projects and areas of activity; major contributions to sub-regional economic strategy and various regional initiatives including campaign to retain Objective 2 status for parts of area.
  • 1993-94 Project Manager, Shankland Cox, Hong Kong
    Range of planning and development feasibility studies for private and public sector clients, including project management of a major study for Hong Kong Government of port back-up and storage land uses and future needs.
  • 1989-1993 Associate/Senior Associate Coopers and Lybrand Management Consultancy Services, London
    Range of consultancy assignments for private and public sector clients in property, planning and economic development related areas.
  • 1988-99 Jones Lang Wootton, Sydney, Australia
    Senior researcher responsible for a variety of property market and investment studies in Asia-pacific region.
  • 1985-88 Researcher/Senior Researcher Property Market Analysis, London
    Range of property market and development/investment feasibility studies for private sector clients.

 

Julia Reddaway

Julia is an experienced and effective regeneration professional, group facilitator and coach. She has significant experience at national, regional and local level in a variety of organisations in the public, private and third sectors. She has a strong track record of supporting groups to work effectively and adapt to change, and of negotiating and influencing at a senior level. Julia works as an Associate with WFTT, and is involved in planning and delivering consultation activities, and facilitating partnerships, as well as providing technical expertise around regeneration programme delivery. Julia has a legal background - with an LL.b (hons) from Liverpool University and originally qualified as a Barrister.

From 2002 to 2006 Julia was Regeneration and Renewal Manager at Brighton & Hove City Council, where she was responsible for the development and management of a number of programmes (including the Area Investment Framework, Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, Single Regeneration Budget and Local Area Agreement). Prior to this she was Community Projects Officer for the same organisation.

Julia has hands-on experience of setting up and managing regeneration projects, including the Brighton Women's Centre (over 1996-99) and Neos Technology Training Centre (1992-99)

 

Heather Brice

Heather is an experienced and versatile analyst and researcher with strong research, interviewing and analytical skills. Heather has worked with WFTT on a number of projects since 1987, including Billingshurst Sustainable Services projects and Sussex Downs and Low Weald LEADER bid. She continues to support a number of corporate clients with research related to business performance and the success of media campaigns.

Heather has a specialism in the analysis of businesses, business sector and market performance, and a background in IT and human resources. Prior to working with WFTT she worked for six years as an Analyst with Ovum, one of Europe's leading providers of research, advisory and consulting services to the IT sector. During this time Heather undertook a variety of research projects for commercial clients encompassing company strategy and performance, industry-wide trends and benchmarks, and market trends. She was also involved in Government sponsored research projects, for example a major study for the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) on the impact of global sourcing on the UK software and IT services industry.

 

Sue O'Donnell

Sue has many years administrative experience working in the leisure sector in various roles, including managing a sports centre for several years, and has been working with WFTT since the start of 2007. We were keen for Sue to work with us because of her dogged attention to detail and organisational abilities, and have not been disappointed!. Sue is primarily involved in interviewing, administrative and database activities.

 

Other resources

WFTT also has established working relationships with a number of other individuals and organisations who provide technical expertise and input as projects require. This enables us to successfully bring the right skills and expertise to a particular project,, whilst remaining small, personal and cost effective. For example, our network includes professionals with specialisms in land-use planning, the health sector, communications strategies and campaigns and volume market research
